Consultant and Coach

Tom specializes in improving the performance of nonprofit organizations, where his work focuses on governance, assessment, and executive board coaching and mentoring. He also accepts recruiting and selection assignments, working extensively with the Birkman Method® and other psychological assessment instruments to better align candidates for executive positions with specific organizational needs and cultures.

Tom’s background encompasses nearly three decades of experience with association management and research in education. He has worked with the College Entrance Exam Board and served for 21 years as President and CEO of the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS).

Tom holds degrees from Duke, Boston University, and the University of Georgia, with post-doctoral work at Harvard on life-long professional development for executives and professionals.
